* Part-time: 3 full days per week
* Initial contract: 12 months, with extension on successful review
* Salary: £50,000 FTE (Actual £30,000 for 3 days/week)
* Location: London-based hybrid role; some in-person days at our shared office in Highgate

About ACT for Cancer
ACT for Cancer is a newly registered charity (CIO) dedicated to helping people with advanced and hard-to-treat cancers navigate innovative treatment options beyond standard NHS care. With projects like the ACT Info Hub, legacy funds, and AI Patient Journeys, we aim to bridge the gap between patients, clinicians, and emerging cancer therapies.
We’ve recently transitioned from a collective fund into a fully-fledged charity—and now we’re ready to grow our impact with the help of a dynamic new team member.
About the Role
This is a unique opportunity for an experienced fundraiser looking to expand into charity operations and leadership. You’ll be the first person in this new combined role, working directly with the Chair and President to deliver on fundraising goals and operational strategy.

Key Responsibilities
Fundraising & Donor Engagement
* Lead on developing and executing ACT’s fundraising strategy (trusts, foundations, corporate, HNWIs, and public giving)
* Write compelling grant proposals and donor materials
* Coordinate digital fundraising campaigns and donor outreach
* Organise donor events, including our presence at the Leaders in Health Summit
* Manage legacy and tribute fund relationships
Charity Development & Management
* Support delivery of ACT’s work plan and strategic goals
* Contribute to operational planning, budgeting and reporting
* Manage day-to-day charity activities (e.g. liaising with contractors, tracking grant deliverables, supporting governance admin)
* Assist in recruiting and managing volunteers and part-time staff
* Work collaboratively with trustees to shape future services and projects
Communications & Partnerships
* Support external comms (e.g. social media, donor newsletters, partner updates)
* Build relationships with stakeholders including clinical and research partners
* Help promote ACT’s visibility across events, conferences and public platforms
What We're Looking For: Person Specification
Essential:
* Proven experience in fundraising (trusts/foundations, corporate, or individual giving)
* A self-starter with strong project management skills
* Confident writing ability (grants, proposals, campaign copy)
* Comfortable working autonomously in a start-up style environment
* A passion for ACT’s mission and a sensitivity to the patient voice
* Interest in growing professionally into a broader charity leadership role
Desirable:
* Familiarity with the UK charity sector or health innovation space
* Experience organising small-scale events or workshops
* Experience in stakeholder communications and/or social media management
* A background or interest in oncology, public health or digital health innovation
