I'm currently supporting a well-established but expanding consultancy in the Midlands that is looking to appoint a Senior Quantity Surveyor to play a key role across a diverse portfolio of major projects. This position offers the opportunity to move beyond pure delivery into a more advisory-led role, working closely with clients on commercial strategy and project performance.
The Role
This is a broad and influential position where you'll take ownership of the commercial function across multiple projects, acting as a trusted advisor to clients while ensuring strong financial and contractual control throughout.
Responsibilities will include:
1. Developing and managing project budgets, forecasts, and cost reporting
2. Providing strategic commercial input from early-stage planning through to completion
3. Managing contract administration across a range of standard forms (including NEC)
4. Leading on change management, variations, and dispute avoidance
5. Reviewing and negotiating contractor submissions and commercial positions
6. Supporting procurement activities, including tender evaluation and contract selection
