Offer description

We are excited to be extending our Oxfordshire Family Nurse Partnership Team! The Family Nurse Partnership (FNP) is an international evidence-based programme. The aim of the programme is to improve antenatal health, child health & development and parents' and self-sufficiency. Family Nurses come from a range of nursing backgrounds and are responsible for delivering the FNP intensive, preventive home visiting programme to vulnerable, hard to reach young women who are expecting their first baby and continues up to the child's second birthday. Bespoke training will be provided to support and ensure competencies within the role. If you are not a Family Nurse already, this will include residential placements throughout the year. As a Family Nurse there is an expectation that you will provide knowledge and leadership expertise within your locality and within the wider 0-19 service and system, and contribute to quality assurance and improvements. Specifically to Oxfordshire, this will include having oversight and offering Supervision to 0-19 staff delivering the Young Parents' Pathway.

Responsibilities

* To work therapeutically with a range of family members to promote behaviour change and positive outcomes for children and families.
* To take a lead professional role when required where children and young people with additional needs require an integrated package of support from more than one practitioner/service.
* To participate in continuous monitoring and engagement in reflective supervision, to ensure that expertise in safeguarding and clinical methods are developed and maintained, that the service offered is of high quality and the programme implemented with fidelity.
* To work in collaboration with local statutory and mainstream services to ensure that families become confident in accessing a range of other universal health and support services and are ready to graduate from the programme when the child is two years old.
* To be part of the Oxfordshire 0-19 Service in the delivery of the Healthy Child Programme to the highest possible standard.
* Provide expertise, clinical oversight and supervision to staff delivering the Young Parent Pathway.

The ability to travel independently between sites within the Trust is essential for this role. You will need to use the "supporting statement" element of your application form to demonstrate your suitability for this role and you should refer to the job description, person specification and the guidance notes attached to this role to help you tailor your application. The essential and desirable criteria will be used to shortlist for interview and you should ensure that you refer to these within your application to increase your chances of being selected for interview.
