The Creative Director will be a strategic creative leader who owns the overall creative vision across brand touchpoints and ensures it's aligned with our global priorities. You'll lead big ideas, guide execution, and elevate the creative output across all teams and channels.
The Creative Director will be a creative translator — turning product stories, marketing strategies, and cultural insights into compelling, effective, and unmistakably Ooni campaigns.
The job:
Creative Vision & Leadership
Own the global creative vision and ensure alignment with brand strategy, seasonal priorities, and product roadmaps
Champion consistency of voice, tone, and visual identity across all channels and markets
Serve as brand guardian, maintaining high creative standards across every output — from global campaigns to packaging to social content
Campaign and Concept Development
Lead the creative and production team to create assets for all channels — including video, digital, social, in-store, packaging, print, and OOH
Drive a "digital-first" creative philosophy, ensuring all global campaigns are optimized for social platforms (TikTok, Instagram, YouTube) and digital performance marketing from the ideation stage.
Lead the design and art direction of high-impact, short-form video and social content that feels native to each platform while maintaining Ooni's premium brand aesthetic.
Lead concept development for key brand campaigns, product launches, and seasonal activations
Collaborate with internal teams (category management, marketing, e-comm, etc,) to translate briefs into breakthrough creative
Provide clear creative direction across art, copy, and production to bring ideas to life
Cross-functional Collaboration
Act as the main creative liaison between the creative team and global stakeholders in category management, marketing, and e-commerce
Identify, vet, and manage relationships with world-class creative, production, and social agencies to augment internal capabilities and execute high-scale global campaigns.
Serve as the lead creative stakeholder for external partners, ensuring agency outputs are not only "on brand" but push the boundaries of Ooni's visual and verbal identity.
With the creative operations manager to manage the prioritization of projects, the internal team workload and external agency/freelancer briefings. Guide collaboration between in-house designers, copywriters, and external agencies/freelancers
Participate in leadership and planning meetings to ensure creative is aligned with commercial needs and business objectives
Creative Oversight and Execution
Provide hands-on guidance and feedback across design, photography, video, and brand copy
Oversee the development of UI/UX-aligned creative assets that enhance the customer journey across e-commerce and mobile touchpoints.
Bridge the gap between high-end brand production and "lo-fi" social content, providing direction on how to maintain quality across varied production budgets and timelines.
Review and approve final creative work before it goes live to ensure it meets brand standards and objectives
Ensure creative is executed on time and within budget
Team Leadership & Coaching
Manage team and provide hands-on feedback, coaching, and mentorship to a multidisciplinary team across art direction, copy, and creative operations
Review and approve creative work, ensuring high standards of craft, consistency, and impact
Foster a collaborative, curious, and high-performing team culture that prioritizes creative excellence
What you'll need to succeed:
Consumer obsession: you have a deep empathy for the end user and the ability to use insights and data to keep the customer at the heart of every creative decision.
Digital & social native: a "scroll-first" mindset with a proven track record of creating high-engagement content for TikTok, Instagram, and emerging platforms. You intuitively understand how to capture attention in fast-paced digital environments and know the nuances of digital engagement versus traditional broadcast.
Agency savvy: extensive experience identifying, briefing, and leading external agency partners. You know how to get the best work out of a creative shop while keeping them aligned with Ooni's internal culture.
Strategic design eye: a background in art direction or design with a sharp eye for typography, layout, and motion, specifically tailored for mobile-first consumption.
Excellent communicator & influencer: ability to present creative strategies and vision clearly to senior stakeholders and external partners, winning "buy-in" through storytelling and logic.
Global mindset: Experienced in building and managing creative strategies that translate across multiple markets, languages, and cultural nuances.
Operational fluency: You understand the "how" as much as the "what"—comfortable working with Creative Ops to balance high-volume output with high-quality craft.
Passion for great products & design: a genuine enthusiasm for translating innovative, high-quality products into a visual experience that inspires customers worldwide.
