Scope
The Care Assistant works as part of the Care Team and is primarily responsible for promoting and delivering person-centred care. They work with direction from the Registered Nurse and/or Care Coordinator. They are mindful of each member’s age, gender, sexuality, ethnicity and spiritual needs, and work within a team ethos where the member’s choice, dignity, independence and personal safety are at the core of all care and support activity. We seek cheerful, caring and compassionate individuals who can make responsible decisions in the member’s best interests.

Responsibilities & Duties
* Provide direct care to members supporting independence, dignity and wellbeing
* Washing, showering, bathing; promoting continence and assisting with toileting
* Assisting with dressing; assisting with food and fluid intake
* Mobility; ensure participation in Person-Centred Care Plans with the Named Nurse and Member
* Pay attention to special support needs (mobility aids, dietary needs, medical issues, communication and cultural needs)
* Care will be provided in line with each member’s Personal Care Plan; liaise with the Manager, Registered Nurse or Care Coordinator to adjust plans as required
* Support members and families, including arranging clothing, grooming or beauty products; liaise with laundry staff to ensure clothing is laundered
* Ensure equipment is stored, cleaned and maintained; report faults in the maintenance log
* Participate in members’ activities and events; respond to help requests including emergencies
* Develop skills and provide wider services (e.g., blood pressure monitoring, urine analysis, medication support as needed)
* Document observations and interventions in line with service standards (fluid balance charts, nutritional intake records, turn charts)
* Support a homely environment in individual suites to promote wellbeing and independence
* Assist in meaningful activities and therapies; support attendance at home activities and GP visits
* Attend mandatory training and engage in clinical or professional supervision; maintain personal knowledge and competency
* Support a learning culture and flexible work pattern (days, nights, weekends, bank holidays) as contracted
* Wear provided staff uniforms in line with policy

* Liaison: liaise with agencies including CQC, Social Services and Health Services
* Eligibility: applicants must be eligible to live and work in the UK or obtain permits prior to application; documented eligibility required
