We are seeking a highly motivated, energetic physician to join our General Internal Medicine team at East Kootenay Regional Hospital (EKRH) in Cranbrook, BC. Our close‑knit group of six experienced general internists provides patient‑centered care in a supportive, mentorship‑driven environment. New graduates are encouraged to apply and will receive robust mentorship as they transition into practice.
Responsibilities
You will engage in a broad range of clinical responsibilities. Our team performs procedures such as intubation, central lines, chest tubes, pigtails, temporary pacemakers, lumbar punctures, arthrocentesis, and paracentesis. You will manage complex cases in a fast‑paced environment, provide critical care in the 6‑bed closed ICU unit run by internists, and offer outpatient care through specialized clinics including TIA, chronic pulmonary disease, diabetes, and CHF clinics with home monitoring. You will also conduct cardiac stress tests, manage MIBIs, stress echoes, Holter monitors, and event monitors.
Call duties are shared evenly among team members, covering internal medicine consults and ICU coverage. Flexible scheduling allows for the development of your own private practice or addition to a well‑established outpatient clinic.

Compensation
Compensation Type: Fee‑for‑Service
Estimated Remuneration: $500,000 – $600,000, plus MOCAP level 1 Physician Overhead TBD
Benefits and Incentives
Retention Premium: 14.00%
Retention Flat Fee: $21,696
Relocation Funding Available: $9,000 - $15,000 based on move location
Recruitment Incentive: $20,000
RCME: Up to 2 years $1,800; 3rd & 4th year $4,800; after 4 years $7,800
