Electrical Maintenance Technician, Dudley
An electrical maintenance opportunity to join one of the UK's largest independent steel toll processors, working on heavy industrial machinery.
Key Details
* £36,500 base salary + excellent overtime earning potential (Sat = 1.5x, Sun = 2x, Weekday OT = 1.2x)
* 33 days holiday, festive shutdowns, matched pension, death in service, and healthcare plan
* Working hours: 3 Shift Rotation – Some flexibility needed as they are a 24‑hour site. Week 1: 6 am–2 pm Mon‑Fri, Week 2: 8 pm–6 am Mon‑Thu, Week 3: 1 pm–9 pm Mon‑Thu, and 10 am–6 pm Fri plus 1 Saturday in 3 (paid at OT rate)
This Electrical Maintenance Technician job will suit
* Apprentice-trained or holding a City & Guilds, NVQ or similar, with some experience in heavy industry, ideally steel processing, slitting, or decoiling machines.
* An electrically biased technician or engineer comfortable with electrical assembly, fault finding, maintenance, repairs.
* Someone confident in providing occasional mechanical support where required (formal electrical qualifications are an advantage but not essential).
Job Responsibilities
* Carry out electrical installations on factory and process machinery.
* Fault‑find across 415 V, 240 V, 110 V, 24 V AC/DC systems, including PLC I/O, OHCs, control panels, contactors and fuses.
* Perform testing and maintenance of emergency lighting, evacuation alarms and high bay/LED lighting.
* Support control panel builds, basic inverter/DC drive work and general electrical upgrades.
This job is commutable from Dudley, Wolverhampton, West Bromwich, Birmingham, Walsall, Stourbridge, Kidderminster, and surrounding areas in the West Midlands.
