Our Sustainability Group offers a wide range of services including:
* Sustainability strategies and bespoke frameworks
* Net zero carbon strategies (operational and embodied carbon)
* Environmental assessments (BREEAM, LEED, SKA, WELL)
* Planning documentation (Sustainability and Energy Statements)
* Ecological assessments and consultancy
* In-use and post-occupancy evaluation and building optimization
* Knowledge sharing and upskilling
* Internal environmental management
The role
We seek a sustainability professional to lead and assist in delivering environmental certifications across projects. The ideal candidate will have experience with BREEAM, WELL, Ska, and LEED, working with clients and design teams from early design to project completion across sectors like workplace, healthcare, education, historic, and sci-tech.
Key responsibilities include:
* Leading environmental certification delivery with support from senior team members
* Reviewing project details and developing certification targets
* Conducting workshops on sustainability requirements
* Supporting design teams in developing compliant strategies and evidence
* Performing LCA assessments
* Supporting planning applications
* Monitoring construction sites
* Reviewing evidence and completing validation and QA for certification submissions
The role also involves work in:
* Net zero carbon strategies and assessments
* Material lifecycle assessments
* Circularity assessments
* Post-occupancy evaluations
* Environmental management systems
The candidate should have experience in planning, design, and construction industries, possess excellent communication skills, and be organized. A passion for environmental sustainability and a drive to advocate for change are essential.
Qualifications and experience
Required:
* Qualification in sustainability, environmental management, or built environment
* Minimum of a few years' experience in WLC and embodied carbon analysis, with skills in tools like OneClick LCA
* Experience with BREEAM certifications across RIBA stages; BREEAM Assessor or AP qualification preferred
* Knowledge of UK environmental legislation
* Ability to work independently and in teams
* Excellent presentation and report-writing skills
Desirable:
* Experience with LEED, Ska, or WELL standards
* Knowledge of Adobe InDesign and Bluebeam
* Circularity assessment experience
