The successful candidate will be responsible for the precise fabrication, assembly and finishing of metal components, with a strong focus on quality and attention to detail. The role involves a variety of sheet metal tasks, contributing to the manufacture of high-quality products.
Responsibilities
•Fabricate metal parts and components according to technical drawings and specifications.
•Operate hand tools, power tools, and specialised equipment to cut, shape, and assemble metal components.
•Grind and finish surfaces to achieve the desired smoothness and appearance.
•Handle sheet metal with care, ensuring precise measurements and accurate cuts.
•Assist in the assembly of metal parts or finished products as required.
•Maintain a clean and organised work area, adhering to all health and safety standards.
•Conduct accurate measurements using callipers, and other measuring devices, ensuring precision.
•Ensure all work meets required quality standards and tolerances.
•Follow safety protocols at all times during fabrication and assembly processes.
•Perform drilling and tapping operations on sheet metal components.
•Carry out linishing to produce smooth, high-quality metal surfaces.
•Work with a variety of materials, including aluminium, mild steel, and stainless steel.
•Conduct spot welding to assemble and join sheet metal parts.
•Perform countersinking on sheet metal to meet design and assembly requirements.
Requirements
•Demonstrated experience in a metalworking environment
•Sound mechanical understanding of tools, machinery, and basic maintenance practices
•Experience with sheet metal fabrication and the use of hand tools
•Ability to read and accurately interpret technical drawings and specifications
•High level of attention to detail with a well-organised approach to tasks
•Strong communication skills and the ability to work effectively within a team
•Previous experience in assembly processes is desirable but not essential
