We currently have an exciting opportunity available for a Grounds Maintenance Supervisor to join our team on a 6-month fixed-term contract, based in Loughton, Essex.
The purpose of the role:
To deliver excellent, customer-focused grounds maintenance services to our customers.
To provide efficient and flexible grounds maintenance support services to the public, businesses, elected members, and colleagues.
To provide technical and specialist knowledge including work planning, monitoring, enquiry response, contract management, and landscape development to the Grounds Maintenance Team and Manager.
Take collective and individual responsibility for ensuring excellent services are provided to our customers.
Remuneration:
The salary: The ideal candidate will join us on a full-time, fixed-term basis with a salary between £37,000 and £41,000 per annum. The exact salary will reflect your experience and skill set.

Your key responsibilities will include:
* Managing and motivating the team to deliver excellent customer-focused services, including recruitment, training, and performance management.
* Monitoring individual and team performance to ensure targets are met.
* Ensuring all contractual obligations of the Grounds Maintenance Service are fulfilled within the district.
* Collaborating with staff to enhance service quality and ensuring health and safety guidelines are observed.
* Updating operational ICT systems timely, recording works, and managing costs for accurate reporting.
* Supporting wider operational issues, including contracts and equipment renewal.
* Meeting key performance metrics and completing activities on time, within budget, and to the correct quality standards.
* Deputising for other Supervisors as needed.
* Supporting the Operations Manager in implementing innovative, forward-thinking service strategies with a digital focus.
* Undertaking other duties as reasonably required, consistent with the role's grade.

Qualifications and Experience:
* Relevant professional degree/qualification or equivalent experience.
* Full, clean driving license and own vehicle for site visits.
* Horticultural and management training.
* Understanding of Health & Safety legislation, COSHH, and risk assessments.
* Satisfactory DBS check.
* Proficiency in Microsoft Office.
* Operational and contract management experience in grounds maintenance.
* Experience managing health and safety of staff and contractors.
* Experience planning, delivering, and monitoring grounds maintenance services.
* Ability to manage costs, specifications, and contractor relationships.
* Data-driven service improvement experience.
* Management of relevant plant, vehicles, and machinery.
