A welcoming, supportive village primary school in the S44 area of Chesterfield, are seeking a compassionate and committed SEND Teaching Assistant to join their team from next week until July 2025 and possibly int the next academic year. This rewarding role is to provide 1:1 support for a child currently in Reception who will be transitioning into Year 1.
About the Role:
You will work closely with the class teacher and SENCO to support a child with a diagnosis of Autism Spectrum Condition (ASC), ADHD, and Dyspraxia. The role involves a balance of individual support and general classroom duties, helping the child to access learning, develop social skills, and regulate emotions in a nurturing environment.
Key Responsibilities:

Provide 1:1 tailored support to meet the child’s individual needs.

Implement strategies to promote engagement, focus, and emotional regulation.

Work collaboratively with the class teacher and wider staff team.
*
Support learning activities and adapt resources where needed.
*
Assist with classroom routines and promote independence.
*
Monitor progress and contribute to support plans and reviews.
About You:
*
Experience supporting children with SEND (particularly ASC, ADHD and/or dyspraxia) is highly desirable.

Patient, empathetic, and consistent in approach.
*
Excellent communication skills and a team player.
*
Able to build a positive and trusting relationship with the child.

Relevant qualifications such as a Level 2 or 3 Teaching Assistant certificate are advantageous
