We have a great opportunity available to join Novus, our prison education provider at HMP Havering as a Functional Skills Cover Teacher. This position is offered on a permanent Ad-hoc basis. This is a zero-hour contract.

Site Information
HMP Havering is situated just outside the Lake District in Millom, Cumbria. The prison houses a male population and actively encourages work through training and education. The Prisons aim is to create an environment in which staff and prisoners feel safe at all times. The prison's mission is to provide a secure, safe, and rehabilitative environment that encourages positive change and prepares inmates for a successful reintegration into society.

Skills, Qualifications and Experience
To be successful in this role, you will need:
* Teaching qualification and where applicable, relevant subject specialist qualification - with a commitment to obtain the outstanding qualification within 12 months
* Level 2 qualification in Literacy and Numeracy
* Hold Qualified Teacher Status (QTS)/ Qualified Teacher Learning and Skills (QTLS) or commit to work towards within a specified timeframe (Applies to Teachers in YOI only)
* Creating stimulating, vibrant environments which are conducive to learning and motivational for learners
* Achievement of quality targets
* Producing accurate and timely reports
