Your new role
Working on a highways improvement scheme in the Norfolk region, they now require a Site Agent to join the project team, with a strong focus on structures such as bridges, retaining walls, culverts, and other associated works. This role involves supervising and monitoring site activities, including subcontractor packages, ensuring delivery aligns withpany procedures, programme requirements, and project specifications.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Provide leadership and guidance to site teams, fostering strongmunication across all functions and ensuring smooth delivery of structural works.
2. Work closely with supply chain partners to develop and challenge design solutions for highway structures, escalate technical issues, and prepare temporary works briefs.
3. Plan and manage short-term programmes for structural activities, monitor progress, and ensure effective sequencing and interface management between structures and other highway elements.
4. Assist with subcontract scope reviews, ensuring structural packages align with delivery requirements and assessing applications for payment.
5. Promote a culture of quality, manage inspections for structural works, and ensurepliance with relevant standards and specifications.
6. Champion safety across all structural operations through inspections, corrective actions, and clear expectations for site teams and subcontractors.
7. Support environmental policies, conduct inspections on structural works, and promote carbon reduction initiatives throughout the project.
What you'll need to succeed
8. Strongmunication skills across diverse audiences
9. Solid understanding of engineering principles and construction methodologies
10. Proficiency in digital tools (MS Office 365, document control systems)
11. SMSTS and CSCS
12. Experience in delivering major highways projects, especially around structures
