Operations Manager
We are looking for an experienced and motivated Operations Manager to lead warehouse and transport operations within a busy distribution environment. This is an excellent opportunity for a hands-on leader who is passionate about delivering exceptional customer service, maintaining high operational standards, and developing high-performing teams.
The Role
As Operations Manager, you will oversee the day-to-day running of warehouse and transport operations, ensuring efficiency, compliance, and excellent service delivery. You will lead and support a large operational team, coordinate training activities, and drive continuous improvement across the site.
Health and safety will be a key focus of the role, ensuring all procedures and policies are followed while working closely with relevant stakeholders to identify and implement improvements.
You will also be responsible for the maintenance and upkeep of site infrastructure and operational equipment, including vehicles and warehouse assets, ensuring compliance with maintenance schedules and operational standards.
Key Responsibilities
1. Manage daily warehouse and transport operations
2. Lead, motivate, and develop operational teams
3. Organise and deliver training initiatives
4. Ensure compliance with health and safety procedures and regulations
5. Monitor and maintain operational efficiency and service standards
6. Coordinate maintenance of warehouse equipment, fleet, and site infrastructure
7. Ensure compliance with vehicle and transport regulations
8. Support continuous improvement initiatives across the operation
About You
9. Previous experience in an Operations Manager or similar leadership role
10. Strong people management and team leadership skills
11. Organised, proactive, and able to manage workloads effectively
12. Experience within warehouse, logistics, distribution, or transport operations
13. Understanding of commercial driver regulations and transport compliance
14. Good IT and systems knowledge
15. A collaborative approach with a strong focus on customer service and operational excellence
