The Role (Family Law Legal Secretary)
This is a brilliant opportunity for a dedicated Legal Secretary to join a busy and friendly Family Law department. You will play a crucial role in providing high‑quality administrative and secretarial support to fee earners, ensuring clients receive a professional and efficient service.
Key Responsibilities
* Managing fee earners' diaries and assisting with day‑to‑day administrative needs
* Preparing files for billing
* Handling incoming calls, emails, post, and internal messages
* Typing correspondence, photocopying, filing, scanning, and opening new matters
* Providing a calm, supportive, and professional service to clients, particularly those navigating sensitive family matters
* Preparing straightforward legal documents
* Ensuring compliance with LEXCEL standards and relevant regulatory requirements
* Understanding basic Solicitors Accounts Rules relating to receipts, payments, and client accounting
* Liaising with clients and third parties to facilitate progress on matters
* Assisting with postal duties and providing occasional reception cover

* Excellent verbal and written communication skills
* Strong relationship‑building and team‑working ability
* Solid administrative experience
* High attention to detail and accuracy
* Enjoys a varied and fast‑paced workload

* Flexible, adaptable attitude
* Strong IT skills, including Microsoft Office
Desirable
* Previous experience as a Legal Secretary
* Familiarity with LEXCEL accreditation standards
