Overview
We are seeking a confident, hands-on and commercially aware Assistant Spa & Leisure Manager to support the smooth operation of our Spa & Leisure Club during a period of maternity cover.
This is a key leadership role responsible for supporting daily operations across reception, treatments, gym and pool facilities, ensuring exceptional guest experiences, strong team performance and delivery against financial targets. You will lead from the front, uphold high presentation standards and drive a culture of professionalism and care.
Operational Management
* Support the Spa & Leisure Manager in the day-to-day running of the department.
* Act as Manager on Duty when required.
* Oversee spa reception, therapist schedules and leisure club operations.
* Ensure all opening and closing procedures are completed accurately.
* Maintain high standards of cleanliness, presentation and guest flow throughout the facilities.
* Monitor maintenance issues and liaise with relevant departments.
Guest Experience
* Ensure every guest receives a warm, professional and seamless experience.
* Handle guest feedback and complaints with confidence and professionalism.
* Conduct spa tours and promote facilities, memberships and treatments.
* Drive a culture of service excellence and attention to detail.
Team Leadership & Development
* Supervise and motivate the spa, leisure and reception teams.
* Lead daily briefings and set clear expectations.
* Support recruitment, onboarding and ongoing training.
* Monitor team performance and address standards proactively.
* Foster a positive, accountable and supportive working environment.
Commercial & Financial Performance
* Support achievement of revenue targets across treatments, retail and memberships.
* Monitor payroll and staffing levels in line with budgets.
* Assist with stock control and ordering of retail and professional products.
* Drive upselling culture within the team.
* Support promotional campaigns and spa packages.
Health & Safety & Compliance
* Ensure compliance with health & safety, pool plant operations and hygiene regulations.
* Maintain accurate records (water testing, cleaning schedules, therapist qualifications).
* Ensure all therapists maintain professional standards and certification.
Desirable (but not essential):
· Previous hands-on spa experience.
· Recognised therapy qualification (e.g. NVQ Level 2/3 Beauty Therapy or equivalent).
· Pool plant qualification
· Pool side attendant Qualification
KEY SKILLS & EXPERIENCE:
· Previous supervisory or management experience within a spa, leisure or hospitality environment.
· Strong operational understanding of spa and leisure facilities.
· Commercially aware with experience driving revenue.
· Confident leader with the ability to motivate and hold standards.
· Highly organised and calm under pressure.
· Excellent communication skills.
· Pool plant qualification (desirable but not essential).
· Professional and well-presented.
· Detail-oriented and standards-driven.
· Positive, proactive and solution-focused.
· Supportive leader who leads by example.
· Passionate about wellness and guest experience.

Pay: £30,000.00-£31,000.00 per year
