We are looking for an experienced nurse with the passion, vision and drive to professionally lead nursing into the future. This highly regarded and dynamic nursing leadership post is based within Argyll & Bute Health and Social Care Partnership, NHS Highland, reporting to the Associate Nurse Director.
Overview
Working under the direction of the Associate Nurse Director, the Lead Nurse will take responsibility for the standard of nursing practice across Community and Specialist Nursing and Advanced Practice. Working across a range of hospital, community, social and domestic settings, the post will focus on professional workforce standards, workforce reviews, clinical governance and patient safety, staff wellbeing, infection prevention and control, and quality care.
Responsibilities
* Lead nursing teams across NHS Highland, working closely with nurse leadership colleagues including the Deputy Director of Nursing and the Board Nurse Director.
* Collaborate with senior operational managers and clinical leads.
* Ensure workforce reviews, professional development programs and clinical governance are maintained.
* Support staff wellbeing and manage infection prevention and control initiatives.
Qualifications & Requirements
* Experienced registered nurse with leadership experience.
* Strong vision for nursing leadership and professional development.
* Full current driving licence and access to a car.
* Willingness to travel across Argyll & Bute, including the islands.
* Good understanding of clinical governance, quality care and infection control.
Benefits
29.6 hours per week (22.2hrs substantive with an additional 7.4hrs Fixed Term until Nov 2027).
