Site Engineer Location: Surrey Quays Rate: £350 - £400 per day (Inside IR35) Duration: 3 - 6 month contract We are currently seeking an experienced Site Engineer to join our team working on a major infrastructure project based in Surrey Quays. This is an exciting opportunity to be part of a high-profile, multidisciplinary rail and civils project involving station works, utilities, drainage, RC structures, and general civil engineering packages. RESPONSIBILITIES: Coordinate all site setting out activities, ensuring alignment with the project, design drawings and specification requirements. Conduct accurate setting out and surveying using GPS, total stations, and digital levels for elements such as drainage systems, retaining walls, RC foundations, trackside infrastructure, and station works. Interpret technical drawings, plans and specifications, ensuring full compliance with project documentation. Prepare and manage as-built records, QA documentation, daily site diaries, and progress reports. Ensure all works are delivered to the highest health, safety, environmental, and quality standards, in accordance with project method statements and risk assessments. Support the delivery team in the preparation of Work Package Plans (WPPs), Inspection Test Plans (ITPs) and task briefings. Liaise with the design team, subcontractors, suppliers, and site supervisors to resolve any technical or construction queries. Conduct pre-pour inspections for concrete structures and monitor rebar installation, ensuring conformance to design and specification. Contribute to temporary works coordination, ensuring temporary works designs are implemented safely and correctly on site. REQUIREMENTS: Previous experience working on heavy civils or rail infrastructure projects, ideally involving structures, drainage, utilities or station upgrades. Proven knowledge of construction techniques, reinforced concrete works, earthworks, and structural elements. CSCS card (Engineering or Supervisor level). Strong ability to set out using GPS, Total Station, EDM and AutoCAD. Confident in completing engineering documentation, including QA check sheets and test records. Working knowledge of CDM Regulations, temporary works procedures, and site safety compliance. Excellent communication skills and ability to liaise across multi-disciplinary teams. Degree or HND in Civil Engineering or related discipline. Desirable: PTS (Personal Track Safety), SMSTS/SSSTS, First Aid at Work, and Temporary Works Coordinator/ Supervisor experience.
