The Birmingham Neighbourhood Network Scheme aims to enable people to lead healthy, happy, independent lives within their own homes and communities. This is achieved through identifying, supporting and developing the community offer provided by groups and organisations within the constituency.
Role details
Position: Neighbourhood Networker (Part-time 21 hours per week, fixed term to 31 March 2027). Location: Castle Vale office with travel to wider Sutton area. Salary: £14,644 - £16,641 per annum. Interview Date: Thursday 6 November.
* Engage and support community groups and organisations to sustain and build capacity and offer to older and vulnerable people in Sutton.
* Engage with the community to ensure citizens can access community-based support, improving well-being and quality of life.
* Build relationships with the local social work team and other key stakeholders in Sutton to identify gaps in community provision for older and vulnerable people.
* Support development of ideas and contribute to a citywide model for Neighbourhood Network Schemes in Birmingham.
* Plan and deliver community events and workshops; experience in organising and leading community activities is highly beneficial.
Requirements / Qualifications
* Experience in community engagement or volunteering roles; ability to organise and lead community activities is advantageous.
* Willingness to travel within the Sutton area and work from the Castle Vale office.
