Job Summary

The Incoming Quality Inspector is responsible for ensuring that all incoming materials, components, and supplies comply with engineering specifications, quality standards, and purchase order requirements before being released to production. This role plays a key part in preventing nonconforming materials from entering the manufacturing process, ensuring product quality, reliability, and traceability.

The position involves inspecting incoming parts, verifying supplier documentation, identifying nonconformities, and collaborating with suppliers and internal departments to support quality assurance and continuous improvement initiatives.

Job Responsibilities

Inspect incoming materials and components in accordance with engineering drawings, specifications, and purchase orders.
Perform visual, dimensional, and documentation inspections.
Verify Certificates of Conformance (CoC), test reports, and supplier documentation.
Identify, document, and report nonconforming materials.
Segregate and control rejected or suspect materials to prevent their use in production.
Use measurement and inspection equipment (e.g., calipers, micrometers, multimeter).
Ensure proper labeling, identification, and traceability of materials.
Maintain accurate inspection records and quality documentation.
Collaborate with suppliers, purchasing, and engineering teams to resolve quality issues.
Support supplier quality activities and audits when required.
Participate in continuous improvement initiatives related to incoming inspection processe

Job Qualifications

Previous experience in incoming inspection or quality control, preferably in manufacturing or aerospace environments.
Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings, specifications, and purchase orders.
Knowledge of quality standards such as ISO 9001 or AS9100 is preferred.
Experience using inspection and measurement tools (e.g., calipers, micrometers, multimeter).
Strong attention to detail and accuracy in inspection activities.
Basic computer skills for documentation, reporting, and quality systems (e.g., Excel).
Understanding of nonconformance management and corrective and preventive actions (CAPA).
Good communication skills and ability to work with suppliers and internal teams.
