To provide administrative support in the booking centre using the electronic booking system and to support patients, clinicians and other Trust Staff.
Main duties
* Take calls from patients, carers, members of the public and Health/Social Care staff, adhering to policies and procedures and maintaining strict confidentiality in accordance with Caldicott Guidance and the Data Protection Act 1998.
* Store and access information using IT packages and systems.
* Provide high‑quality booking services as part of a team and independently.
* Answer telephone enquiries within the busy call centre from patients and other healthcare departments/professionals.
* Process electronic and paper referrals daily, including date‑stamping and monitoring upon receipt using the relevant electronic systems.
* Cover evening outpatient department reception duties.
Qualifications
* Good standard of general education to GCSE level or equivalent, including Maths and English.
Experience
* Previous clerical experience.
* Understanding of Microsoft applications.
* Understanding of patient confidentiality and the Data Protection Act 1998.
* Familiarity with PAS.
Knowledge
* Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, both verbally and written.
* Numeracy and literacy.
