Carpenter / Joiner – Fire Door & Fire Stopping Specialist
Location: Croydon (Covering London & the South East)
Salary: £38,000 – £45,000 per annum (DOE)
Position: Full-Time, Permanent
The Opportunity
A premier maintenance and fire safety contractor is seeking a skilled Carpenter / Joiner to join their expanding Fire Door and Fire Stopping Division. Due to sustained growth and a reputation for excellence, the company is looking for a dedicated professional to uphold their high standards of safety and craftsmanship across London and the South East.
The Role
The successful candidate will play a pivotal role in the delivery of critical fire safety projects. You will be asked to visit clients in the CR Postcode area & help with fire door installations.

Compliance & Safety: Performing comprehensive fire door inspections, servicing, and full installations.

Technical Repairs: Executing fire stopping works and remedial repairs to ensure total regulatory compliance.
*
General Maintenance: Carrying out high-quality carpentry and joinery tasks within the reactive side of the business.

Standards: Ensuring all works meet current industry products and installation standards while maintaining meticulous documentation via a company PDA.
The Candidate
The client is looking for a "tradesperson’s tradesperson"—someone with deep technical roots and an uncompromising eye for detail. The following are essential requirements:

Experience: A minimum of 7 years’ experience in carpentry and joinery.

Specialism: Proven, hands-on experience specifically within fire door installation and maintenance.
*
Qualifications: Must hold an NVQ Level 2/3 or City & Guilds equivalent in Carpentry & Joinery.
*
Compliance: A valid CSCS card and a Full UK Driving Licence.
*
Equipment: Possession of a full set of professional-grade tools.
*
Attributes: Excellent communication skills and a proactive approach to problem-solving in a reactive environment.
