Our client is a well established and one of the top Geotechnical companies, their highly trained skilled Geotechnical team focus on understanding the site conditions for all UK construction projects. By conducting rigorous testing and sampling in the field, both above and below ground, their team identify and interpret conditions that will impact the subsequent stages of construction.

Their services are vital in order to kick start any project, whether it be tower blocks in a major city, new bridges, major roads and rail tunnels or even home extensions. About the Role

Engineering geologist you will be exposed to a variety of unique projects throughout the country. It is key that you have the balance to be proactive and independent, while simultaneously being a strong team player. Good management skills, and a strong understanding with experience in the industry are vital in order to succeed in this role.

Responsibilities

* Reporting to the Operations Manager, the successful applicant will be joining an experienced and enthusiastic GI Operations team and will be responsible for delivering ground investigation and geotechnical services to our wide ranging client base across the UK.
* With a wide range of sectors including major infrastructure for highways and rail, nuclear, new build, onshore and offshore energy and environmental.
* Confident and knowledgeable of ground investigation techniques.
* Prepare Health & Safety documentation prior to and during the site works phase, as well as assisting with the managing the Health & Safety of operatives and promoting a safe working environment.
* Responsible for the planning, supervision and programming of Ground Investigation projects at locations throughout the United Kingdom.
* Logging of Soil and Rock in accordance with the specification and BS5930:2015+A1:2020.
* Keeping accurate field records of tasks performed.
* Act as a Site Agent or a support role, supervising multiple activities and staff for short and longer term projects.
* Performing in-situ testing and sampling in accordance with the specification and current technical standards.
* Liaise with Clients / Engineers / Main Contractors throughout the site works phase.
* Managing and collating site data using company software systems.
* Assist in the compilation of monthly financial project accounts.
* Be able to write factual reports.
* Carry out work in accordance with company Health and Safety rules.
* Have a minimum level of fitness required to undertake all site based tasks listed above on a variety of sites including active construction sites and linear projects for roads and railways.

Qualifications

Degree in geology or environmental or we geotechnical related qualifications

Required Skills

Management skills, engineering geology main grade, sampling and logging, site visits, ground investigation techniques, UK project experience, working with all levels of engineers and project management experience.

Preferred Skills

Confident and knowledgeable of ground investigation techniques.
