Electrician
Location: Rochdale, OL10
Salary: £18.85 – £20.66 per hour
Join our Managed Property Services team as an Electrician, delivering high-quality building maintenance services across Rochdale Borough Council properties. This role involves a mix of reactive and planned maintenance tasks, ensuring all electrical installations, repairs, and inspections are completed to the highest standards of workmanship, customer care, and compliance.
Day-to-Day of the Role
* Carry out electrical installations, repairs, and fault finding.
* Perform testing and inspection, including Electrical Installation Condition Reports (EICRs).
* Ensure compliance with current regulations, legislation, and contract requirements.
* Maintain high standards of customer service in occupied properties.
* Work across both domestic and commercial buildings, handling systems such as fire alarms, CCTV, intruder alarms, access control systems, and lighting.
* Accurately record work undertaken, including costs, materials, and time, using mobile technology and asset systems.
* Operate independently or collaborate with other trades on larger projects.
Required Skills & Qualifications
* Recognised electrical qualifications such as NVQ Level 3 in Electrical Installation, City & Guilds Electrical Theory (Parts 1 & 2 or equivalent), City & Guilds 2391 Testing & Inspection, and 18th Edition Wiring Regulations.
* Proven experience across a wide range of electrical works.
* Strong understanding of health and safety legislation.
* Ability to work independently and manage workload effectively.
* Excellent customer service and communication skills.
Additional Duties
* Assist with ordering materials and pre-measuring jobs.
* Support and mentor apprentices or trainees.
* Identify and report additional faults or defects.
* Maintain tools, equipment, and PPE in line with health and safety standards.
* Ensure all tasks are carried out in accordance with safe working practices and risk assessments.
* Communicate professionally with customers, colleagues, and stakeholders.
Working Conditions
* Work may be carried out in both internal and external environments in varying weather conditions.
* The role may involve working at height and in confined spaces.
* Physically demanding duties may be required.
* Work across a variety of property types, including higher-risk environments.
