Major Repair Engineer (Diesel Engineer) - Switch Visa Sponsorship Do you have experience working with generators or heavy mechanical equipment? PLEASE NOTE: To be considered for this role you must have experience with generator or plant equipment repairs and be comfortable carrying out major engine strip-downs and rebuilds. Details: Working hours: Monday to Friday (hours dependent on depot schedule) Salary: £36,608 - £41,184 dependent on experience. The salaries are based on an hourly pay rate of between £16 - £18 over a 44 hour standard week. Location: West Yorkshire Benefits : Overtime opportunities Career development and training opportunities Supportive engineering team environment Long-term career progression within a growing company Company vehicle or loan vehicle when required Duties : Carry out major repairs on hire fleet generators and ancillary equipment Perform planned servicing and maintenance on both fleet and customer generators Diagnose faults and carry out engine strip-downs, rebuilds, and component repairs Work with engines such as Perkins, Cummins, Deutz, Kubota, Yanmar, and Volvo Maintain high standards of work quality and customer satisfaction Complete all job documentation and company paperwork accurately Ensure work areas are kept clean, organised, and safe Maintain company vehicles in a clean and roadworthy condition when used Work collaboratively with depot teams and support a strong team environment Follow all health, safety, quality, and environmental procedures Requirements: Experience working with generators, plant equipment, or heavy engineering machinery Proven experience in engine rebuilds and major mechanical repairs Mechanical or plant engineering qualification (preferred) Forklift Truck Licence (desirable - training can be provided) Good problem-solving and fault-finding skills Ability to work both independently and as part of a team Strong communication skills and professional attitude Flexible approach to working hours when required This is a great opportunity for an experienced engineer to join a well-established and growing engineering business where your technical expertise will play a key role in maintaining and repairing critical power equipment.
