We are looking for a dynamic and experienced Radiology Consultant to lead and improve clinical services within the Oxford University Hospitals NHS Trust.
Responsibilities
* Monitor the quality and safety of activities, proposing and implementing actions to address concerns in conjunction with the CD, Matron and DM.
* Plan the delivery of efficient, cost‑effective clinical services within available resources.
* Promote and lead innovation and improvements in clinical productivity and service delivery.
* Ensure effective communication between the specialty and the Directorate and Divisional Teams.
Qualifications
Required
* Medical Degree
* FRCR or equivalent
* Full registration with GMC
* CCT in Radiology or registration on the GMC Specialist Register in Radiology
Desirable
* Higher academic qualification (e.g., MD, MS) and the ability to offer an expert radiology opinion.
* Evidence of the ability to make decisions at consultant level and to manage complex clinical problems.
* Effective administrative and time‑management skills.
* Knowledge of contemporary NHS management issues.
* Knowledge of the political context within which we operate.
* Evidence of significant contribution to successful teamwork.
* Flexible approach to service delivery and a committed approach to development.
* Good spoken and written English; highly developed communication and interpersonal skills, with evidence of the ability to communicate with patients, colleagues and staff at all levels.
* Experience of formal and informal contributions to teaching and training.
* Ability to inspire, motivate and develop junior medical staff.
* Knowledge of main aspects of clinical governance including serious incidents.
* Management qualification.
* Evidence of having implemented change.
* Training in clinical management.
* Knowledge of and experience in using Radiology Management Systems, PACS and voice‑recognition dictation.
* Educational qualification.
