The Value Chain Optimisation Analyst will support projects that review the end-to-end value chain and identify opportunities to unlock cost, improve sustainability and strengthen supply chain resilience.
The successful candidate is required to work efficiently and accurately to provide detailed analysis relating to VCO topics and present findings in a timely manner whilst also contributing to a cooperative work environment.
Your New Role
* Assists the VCO Manager with the coordination of VCO projects to achieve ambitious cost reduction targets
* Travel to supplier manufacturing facilities and support the running of VCO workshops
* Designs and implements tools to support strategic value chain optimisation initiatives
* Extracts and interprets data patterns in order to translate findings into actionable outcomes
* Triangulates data to validate and support value chain project activities
* Provides ongoing reporting of metrics to track benefits
* Utilises data visualization tools to effectively communicate business insights
* Embeds initiatives through effective stakeholder engagement and training facilitation
* Actively manages the area of responsibility by using initiative and suggesting ways of improving processes and systems for greater efficiency
* Trains other employees where appropriate
* Ensures all projects within the area of responsibility are delivered on time and within the budget and scope agreed with the VCO Manager/Director
* Ensures deadlines are complied with in their area of responsibility
* Ensures adherence to all legal requirements, Health and Safety and Due Diligence measures in their area of responsibility
* Prepares and submits reports and analysis as requested by the VCO Directors/Managers
* Maintains an efficient and well-organised filing system for the area of responsibility
* Ensures that all documentation in the area of responsibility is archived properly and ensures its disposal at the end of the archive period
* Ensures compliance with all ALDI policies and procedures within the area of responsibility, conducting internal audits where requested
* Manages the efficient and accurate flow of information, with internal/external parties ensuring an ongoing understanding of current issues, proposing/taking action where appropriate
* Ensures that a polite and professional manner is maintained in all internal/external communications
* Ensures that all manual and computerised procedures are followed and that all files are accurate and up to date at all times.
* Provides technical or specialist subject matter support to the VCO Team
* Contributes positively and constructively to the Buying Department
* Provides cover for colleagues where necessary
About You
Essential:
* Substantial previous retail Buying experience
* Strong Excel skills
* Strong commercial acumen
* Able to display an analytical mind-set and a high degree of numerical aptitude
* Excellent visual design sense regarding clear and accurate presentation of data
* A self-starter with the ability to prioritise duties among multiple concurrent projects
* Strong attention to detail with high level of personal organisation
* Strong communication skills with ability to take complex information and deliver in a simplified manner
* Delivery of concise and articulate written work
* A good sense of urgency and adaptability under pressure in a fast paced and cross functional environment
* Intellectually curious and takes initiative
* Dynamic, diligent, consistent
* Strong problem-solving capabilities and focus on solutions

* 14-month Fixed Term Contract
* Starting salary of £47,045 rising to £51,635
* Monday to Friday, 8:00am to 4.30pm, with the opportunity of remote working up to 2 days per week
