Your role
This is a forward looking role within Procurement as the Director, Procurement Operational Excellence investigating and driving our procurement agenda. In this role you will ensure that our global Procurement function is future-ready by identifying, implementing and embedding innovative practices and technologies. You will lead change initiatives, drive process and systems improvement, and collaborate with Procurement Business Partners to shape strategic direction.
This position can be based at one of the following CSL locations: Melbourne, Australia; Bern or Zurich, Switzerland; Liverpool, United Kingdom.
Reporting to the Global Head, Strategy, Innovation and GBS and managing a global team, you will be responsible to:
1. Proactively scan market trends, emerging technologies and global best practices to identify innovation opportunities to enhance procurement efficiency, effectiveness and compliance
2. Evaluate and recommend new practices or tools that drive continuous improvement for future-ready procurement
3. Drive the Procurement Leadership Team agenda and requirements, align with IT, Finance, Legal to secure end to end alignment
4. Lead your team across AI & Projects, Process Innovation and System Innovation, sponsor and facilitate initiatives to improve procurement processes and systems across direct and indirect spending
5. Identify and implement enhancements to procurement systems to improve efficiency, accuracy, and compliance across processes
6. Establishes performance metrics and fosters a culture of continuous improvement
You will have:
7. Bachelor’s degree in business, Supply Chain, Procurement, or a related discipline is required
8. Certifications in Lean Six Sigma, Change Management (e.g., Prosci), or similar are desirable
9. Proven experience as a strategic thinker developing and implementing procurement improvement initiatives across global or regional organisations
10. Significant experience (typically 10+ years) in one of the following areas; procurement, operations, leadership or transformation roles
11. Demonstrated experience in leading cross-functional teams and managing complex project and program setups
12. Change management expertise with foundational experience in leading change initiatives from successful implementation and ongoing success
