Blue Diamond Recruitment are recruiting for a proven Planning professional to join a five star house builder based in Staffordshire as Planning Manager.
Join a privately owned housebuilder with a genuine family feel and supportive culture. In this key role, you’ll take ownership of developing and implementing programmes to secure all necessary planning consents, coordinating with internal teams and external stakeholders to ensure timely delivery of projects.
You’ll bring strong planning experience, a solid understanding of planning policies and guidelines, and a commercially minded approach to problem-solving. With excellent communication, negotiation and organisational skills, you’ll play a vital part in helping the region achieve its planning and profit targets.
Key Responsibilities
* Support the Design & Technical Team to deliver regional planning and profit objectives.
* Coordinate closely with design, technical, and land teams to monitor progress and ensure schedules are met.
* Liaise with local authorities to agree mechanisms and action plans for discharging conditions and securing implementation of consents.
* Support the Land Team with promotional activities in conjunction with the Planning Director.
* Assist the Technical Director in the submission and negotiation of planning applications.
* Ensure all pre-start Section 106 obligations and requirements are discharged in a timely manner.
* Coordinate cross-departmental activity to maintain momentum and ensure programmes remain on schedule.
* Monitor progress with local authorities and external agencies, resolving any delays that arise.
* Prepare monthly progress reports on all relevant schemes, identifying key achievements and any slippage against targets.
* Work with regional colleagues to identify opportunities for cost savings through efficient delivery of conditions and reserved matters.
* Provide ad hoc advice on changes in national or local planning policy that may affect the business.
