Position Title: Discrete Event Simulation Manager
Duration: Contract
Location: Halewood, Liverpool
Responsibilities
* Responsible for the development and delivery of the Discrete Event Simulation model and documentation, modelling the process flow from concept through to the delivery phase to JOB1 + 90 days.
* The model will be developed to include, but not limited to:
o Discrete Event Simulation
o Lead the DES model generation from concept modelling to a fully detailed mimic of the programme/system that meets the design scope, operating principles, performance metrics, safety, quality, delivery, cost, people and environment objectives.
o Lead the system optimisation, cost avoidance, best practices capturing and sharing with relevant stakeholders.
o Able to work effectively with design teams to develop and optimise solutions considering multi‑attributes within defined deadlines and time constraints.
o Guide the process using product knowledge and awareness of potential design constraints to ensure due consideration in developing solutions.
o Coordinate and lead projects and team feedback of results as required through design/project reviews/DES Dashboards.
o Lead optimisation of the DES model against different model derivative mixes and operational parameters.
o Lead bottleneck analysis of the system and develop strategies to remove bottlenecks.
o Lead volume throughput increase studies and system "what if" analyses.
o Guide the process to adhere to vehicle derivative sequencing and build‑to‑sequence rules.
o Support the continual development of tools and techniques that enhance capability, improve quality and robustness of DES models.
o Mentor and train junior team members and graduates.
o Undertake any other work as directed by the line manager in connection with the role.
