Accountable Recruitment are delighted to be partnering with a leading UK retail organisation who are seeking to appoint an experienced Finance Manager to join the team on a 12-15 month fixed-term maternity cover.
Based in Liverpool Head Office, you will work a hybrid model, with 2 days required on site.
This opportunity is ideal for an immediately available technically strong accountant, looking for a fixed-term role with a chance to work across group consolidation, statutory reporting, and technical accounting projects.
Salary/benefits:
£55,000 - £60,000 per annum (DOE)

Job Duties:
Produce consolidated statutory accounts for the Group on a quarterly and annual basis, alongside subsidiary and dormant company accounts.
Prepare consolidation schedules, including adjustments and reconciliations to monthly reporting.
Draft accounting papers covering key judgements, estimates, and new technical accounting standards.
Monthly review of balance sheet reconciliations.
Review and support junior team members' work, including journal postings and IFRS 16 entries.
Support the year-end audit process and act as a key point of contact for technical matters.
Identify opportunities to simplify and improve consolidation and reporting processes.
Support ad hoc technical accounting projects across the finance function.

Ideal experience:
ACA or ACCA qualified accountant (or equivalent) with 3+ PQE
Strong IFRS technical knowledge, including experience with group consolidations
Experience producing statutory accounts and supporting year-end audit processes
Strong Excel skills, including ability to work with large data sets and system exports
Excellent communication and relationship-building skills at all levels of the business
Self-starter with a proactive approach and a desire to deliver high-quality work
Organised approach with ability to manage multiple priorities and tight deadlines
Ability to work with external advisers where needed
