The Company
Wasteland Travel is a company at the forefront of Student snowsports travel. With over 30 years of experience, Wasteland delivers exceptional trips for thousands of students every year, curating Alpine experiences beyond your average ski trip.
The team is made up of dynamic, like-minded people who have a genuine passion for their job, are committed to delivering our trips to the highest possible standard, and are community-driven - always striving to cultivate the Wasteland network of committees, reps, and trippers.
The role
The Account Manager role is integral to the company. You are the face of Wasteland Travel - establishing and maintaining strong relationships with University committees, our primary customer. Within the role, you will also be expected to uphold strong relationships with other stakeholders and suppliers both in and out of the UK.
The role offers a varied range of tasks. You will guide your groups through the full year-long cycle from trip quoting and planning, promotion and sales, and delivery, right through to debrief and handover for the following year. Alongside this structure, you will be expected to be able to deal with more reactive tasks, focusing on problem-solving and customer service. Throughout the above, you will be responsible for and be the main point of contact for a number of our groups, but you will work closely with all departments (Operations, Events, Customer Service, Finance, Marketing).
Your role may also include time spent in resort as part of the delivery team for some of the trips, for which you will undertake specific resort manager training to ensure these trips are delivered to the standard expected.
The right candidate will be enthusiastic and passionate about the UK Snowsports scene in general and understand that as a Wasteland Travel Account Manager, you hold an influential and visible role in this scene, and will work with the wider team to ensure the sustainability and growth of Student Snowsports and the Wasteland Travel brand and community.
Due to the nature of the role and tasks associated, you will need to be an extremely strong communicator, highly organised whilst remaining adaptable, quick-thinking and solution-focused, and be confident working independently as well as part of a team.
Working hours
Your main contracted hours will be 37.5 hours (5 days) per week. Your core office days will be Monday, Tuesday, and Thursday with the option to work from home on Wednesdays and Fridays. Working hours may vary depending on the requirements of the company, such as whilst delivering trips in resort and UK events, which will include some weekend and evening work.
