Overview
We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Assistant General Manager to join our hospitality team. Duties
* Assist the General Manager in overseeing daily restaurant or hotel operations, ensuring smooth workflow and excellent service delivery
* Supervise and support front-of-house and kitchen staff, including managing shifts, delegating tasks, and motivating team members
* Oversee food preparation and cooking processes to maintain high-quality standards and consistency
* Ensure compliance with food safety regulations and health & safety policies across all departments
* Manage inventory levels, order supplies, and control costs to optimise operational efficiency
* Handle customer enquiries, resolve complaints promptly, and ensure guest satisfaction
* Support staff training programmes focusing on culinary skills, service excellence, and safety procedures
* Assist in organising special events or promotions to enhance customer engagement and revenue
Skills
* Proven supervisory experience within a restaurant or hospitality environment
* Strong leadership qualities with the ability to manage teams effectively
* Extensive knowledge of food preparation, cooking techniques, and food safety standards
* Experience in food production, kitchen operations, or hotel management is highly desirable
* Familiarity with restaurant service procedures including serving standards and hospitality practices
* Ability to oversee food safety protocols and maintain high hygiene standards
* Excellent organisational skills with the ability to multitask under pressure
* Effective communication skills to liaise with staff, suppliers, and customers confidently
* Prior experience with culinary arts or barista duties is advantageous but not essential
