Healthcare Improvement Scotland (HIS) is at the forefront of enhancing health and social care across Scotland. Our diverse responsibilities include sharing cutting-edge best practices, offering improvement support, providing rigorous external quality assurance, and empowering people to influence the design and delivery of health and social care services.
This is a pivotal moment to join HIS. With changes in the Executive Team and expanding responsibilities, you have a unique opportunity to make a significant impact on a national scale.
As the Chief Finance and Risk Officer you will lead with strength, visibility, and engagement across Finance, Procurement and Risk Management functions ensuring the highest professional standards. Your commitment to supporting and motivating people will help build high-performing teams.
In your core financial accountability role, you will support the Chief Executive as the Accountable Officer, ensuring a robust financial strategy that aligns with the organisation's strategic objectives for the short, medium, and long term.
With a degree or equivalent qualification, you must be a fully qualified Accountant with CCAB membership and significant post-qualification experience.
You will balance day-to-day delivery of the function's objectives with shaping the future strategy of HIS. Your personal resilience will be crucial in handling the role's demands and your commercial acumen and commitment to innovation will be critical to ensuring the organisation is fit for the future.
A natural team player, you will collaborate with the Executive Team to drive improvements in health and social care. You will also build alliances with stakeholders such as NHS Directors of Finance and senior staff across NHSScotland and within the Scottish Government.
