The Asset Optimisation and Maintenance Department provides a Maintenance Centre of expertise in Engineering of Tata Steel UK centred around the delivery of the Company Asset Management Framework (CAMF) In-Use. Integration of maintenance systems such as SAP as well as interface software for maintenance management. The activities include development and improvement of maintenance processes, performing assessments, Tata Steek UK - wide reporting and supporting of engineering governance. All this is based on Sharing and Learning within the Engineering Community of Tata Steel UK.
The Tata Steel UK Engineering function, facilitates cooperation, supports improvement projects and sets the standard, aimed at improving the reliability of the assets of Tata Steel in Europe which is crucial to the success the business.
The Role
We are looking to recruit an experienced Senior Manager for Asset Management Optimisation across Tata Steel UK, who will report directly to the Director of Engineering. This is a national role, with responsibilities and interfaces with the wider Tata Steel Group subject matter experts.
Within the role, you will take care and lead the development and deployment of Tata Steel Europe's maintenance strategy, stimulating sharing and learning across the company using best practices. This includes but not be limited to:
The deployment of policies on asset integrity to safeguard the license to operate of Tata Steel. All this to support implementation of the Journey to Reliability (J2R) approach within Tata Steel Europe. You will cooperate with colleagues within the central team, but even more with colleagues in all manufacturing sites of Tata Steel UK.
You and your team will perform analysis on the different Company Asset Management Framework (CAMF) related processes to develop plans how these can be improved within the Journey to Reliability program. For some of the processes within this framework you should act as a Subject Matter Expert (SME) and be able to develop the process, define metrics and be able to educate people if needed. You will join expertise groups on subjects like Preventive Maintenance, Strategic Asset Management Plans and Condition Based Maintenance and you will actively promote the development and application of modern maintenance and asset management in Tata Steel.
Facilitation and ownership of the Tata Steel UK Standards web site and publication forms an essential part of the role and training and owning the Risk Based Asset expenditure / planning / for the company supports the reliability activity plans.
The role involves many international contacts with managers and experts from International sites and various functions. Will have input in process improvement project teams across the wider Tata Group with opportunities for international travel, shaping our future vision and processes. Some external stakeholder management including benchmarking will also be part of the job.
What we are looking for
Applicants for this role will be expected to be educated to degree level with significant engineering experience, knowledge and drive.
Experience and knowledge in maintenance, asset management and improvement methods, including new developments
Understanding of Asset Management Systems based on ISO55000
Structured, organised, thorough and consistent
Experienced in assessing or auditing (maintenance) work processes
Excellent communicator at all levels, ability to act as a respected advisor / consultant engineer, cooperating with various organizational layers
Ability to stimulate Sharing & Learning
Be proactive in standardization and document management
Eagerness to work in an international environment, including some traveling
Organisational sensitivity
Ability to confidently deliver courses in the area of your expertise
