SEMH Specialist Teaching Assistants needed in the Preston Area
North West/ temporary / £95 - 110 per day

Contract: Full-time, long-term
We are currently seeking a resilient and dedicated SEMH Teaching Assistant to join a specialist provision in Preston, supporting pupils with Social, Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH) needs and challenging behaviour.
This is a rewarding and hands-on role ideal for someone who is passionate about helping young people overcome barriers to learning and reach their potential in a nurturing, structured environment.
Key Responsibilities
* Providing one-to-one and small group support to pupils with SEMH needs
* Promoting emotional regulation, resilience, and positive behaviour
* Supporting pupils both in and out of the classroom to re-engage with learning
* Working collaboratively with teaching staff and external professionals
* Creating a safe, calm and consistent environment that supports individual needs
Requirements
* Experience working with children or young people with SEMH needs and challenging behaviour – essential
* A calm, patient, and empathetic approach to support
* Strong communication skills and a positive, team-focused attitude
* Knowledge of trauma-informed approaches – highly advantageous
* Commitment to safeguarding and inclusion
