SCALE 4: £31,980 pa rising in annual increments to £33,384 pa including LW.
About the Team
The Engagement Service is a preventative service which supports children, young people and families to intervene early and reduce the vulnerabilities, risks and factors that lead to offending behaviour. The service works alongside the Youth Justice and Contextual Safeguarding Services to deliver an integrated response which supports children and young people to fulfil their potential and make positive contributions to society.
About the Role
The purpose of this role is to support the needs and development of children and young people at risk of offending, family breakdown, homelessness, sexual and criminal exploitation. The aim of the role is to provide support at the point when problems emerge, preventing the need for more specialist services further down the line.
Key Responsibilities
* Support children and young people who are at risk of offending and other challenges.
* Identify and intervene early in situations that may lead to offending behaviours.
* Collaborate with other agencies (Youth Justice, Contextual Safeguarding, etc.) to deliver integrated support.
* Provide practical support and guidance to families to prevent breakdown and homelessness.
Required Qualifications and Experience
* Experience working with children and young people at risk of offending or vulnerable families.
* Strong understanding of safeguarding, child protection, and crime prevention principles.
* Ability to build rapport with young people and families in challenging situations.
* Knowledge of relevant statutory and professional standards.
* Successful completion of Enhanced DBS checking and a Cifas check (required after selection).
