Are you an experienced lands and planning professional ? We are recruiting two Lands & Planning Managers to join our multi-disciplinary Land & Mineral Resources (LMR) team—one supporting our North region and one supporting our Central region. This is an exciting opportunity to play a vital role in shaping the future of our business across the UK.
About the Role
As a Lands & Planning Manager, you'll provide specialist support across all UK business divisions, ensuring our land, mineral, and property interests are optimised, sustainable, and cost‑effective. You'll lead on planning and permitting activity, helping to secure essential resources and permissions that underpin our operational success.
Manage Heidelberg Materials UK's property and mineral assets, planning permissions, recycling and operational permits
Lead the acquisition and disposal of land, property, and mineral reserves
Oversee the preparation of planning applications and Environmental Statements and successfully deliver planning permissions for development projects relating to mineral working and a wide variety of other industrial activities relating to the manufacture, sale and transportation of building materials.
Act as a trusted advisor across business divisions on land, planning and permitting matters.
Pro-actively support the business at an operational level to ensure the provision of timely and cost-effective advice on land, planning and permitting matters.
Collaborate with internal specialists on restoration, aftercare, quarry design, and geotechnical issues
Contribute to strategic business planning and ensure alignment with wider business objectives
Engage with external stakeholders, including landowners, tenants, regulatory bodies and community groups.
Manage project budgets and ensure compliance with company strategy
Maintain accurate property records and systems
Ensure compliance with competition legislation and internal policies
Education & Qualifications
BSc (Hons) or equivalent in property, planning estates management, or another relevant discipline
Chartered Surveyor or equivalent professional accreditation from a recognised body
