Shop Supervisor (Nelson, Age UK)
Overview
Age UK is recruiting a Shop Supervisor to join our retail team in Nelson. The role focuses on delivering excellent customer service, supporting sales, and ensuring the smooth day‑to‑day running of the shop.
Responsibilities
* Deliver outstanding retail service and ensure a great shopping experience for all customers.
* Support sales, stock rotation, organising displays and store tidying.
* Represent Age UK professionally and reflect the charity’s core values.
* Act as deputy to the Shop Manager and Assistant Manager in their absence.
Working Conditions
* 3 month fixed‑term contract.
* 14 hours across a 7‑day working week on rota basis, including Saturdays and Sundays.
* May be required to lift and handle bags of stock up to 10 kg.
Minimum Requirements
* Experience in a customer facing retail role.
* Experience of cash handling.
* Ability to lift and carry bags of stock up to 10 kg.
* Ability to work effectively as part of a team.
* Capability to work independently when required.
* Demonstrate sensitivity to cultural differences and commitment to equal opportunities.
* Flexible approach to cover additional days for holidays, sickness or shop events.
