We are looking for an enthusiastic apprentice to join our team. The successful candidate will be trained to accurately dispensing medication and providing advice to customers on the safe use of their medication. The ideal candidate will have a keen eye for detail, excellent customer service skills, and the ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Responsibilities to work towards:
* Dispense medications accurately and in a timely manner.
* Check prescriptions for accuracy and completeness.
* Maintain accurate records of all medications dispensed.
* Ensure that all medications are stored correctly and safely.
* Provide advice to customers on the use of medications.
* Keep up to date with current legislation and regulations regarding medication dispensing.
* Keep up to date with new products and services available in the pharmacy.
Duties to include:
* Patient consultations
* Dispensing medicine
* General admin
* Dealing with over the counter and phone enquiries
* Use of the computer and the pharmacy specific software
* Checking off and unpacking orders
* Stock management
* Date checking of stock
* Processing NHS prescriptions

* Good customer service skills and organisation skills are necessary as there are many interactions during the normal working day with other staff members, patients, and healthcare professionals

Desired qualifications
GCSEs at grades C/4 or above (or equivalent) would be desirable but not essential as every candidate will be considered on Merit.
Future prospects
Full-time permanent role for the right person. Further potential for other training such as a Level 3 Pharmacy Technician apprenticeship.
Training to be provided
Level 2 Pharmacy Services Assistant apprenticeship standard, which includes:
* Level 1/2 Functional Skills in maths and English (if required)
* End-Point Assessment (EPA)
* GPHC Approved Qualification.
