Job Opportunity: Teaching Assistants x2 (KS2 & KS4)
Location: Ashtead
Contract Type: Temporary (Until Mid-October, with potential for extension)
Start Date: ASAP
Hours: 35 hours per week, term time only 3 INSET days.
Pay Rate: £120–£220 per day (dependent on experience)
Interviews: Immediate availability required
We are seeking two dedicated and enthusiastic Teaching Assistants to join our team on a temporary basis. One role will support Key Stage 2 (Year 5) and the other will support Key Stage 4 (Year 11). These roles are ideal for individuals passionate about making a difference in students’ educational journeys.
Purpose of the Role
You will work closely with specific pupils to help them access the curriculum, build confidence, and develop essential skills. Collaborating with class teachers, you’ll use your creativity, communication skills, and subject knowledge to support learning and play a positive role in school life.
Key Responsibilities
* Support pupils with EHCPs to access learning and build confidence.
* Provide classroom support including notetaking, modifying texts, and liaising with teachers.
* Attend and contribute to EHCP Annual Review meetings.
* Assist in developing individual education and behaviour plans.
* Foster positive relationships with pupils and encourage engagement.
* Provide feedback to pupils and staff on progress and challenges.
* Promote good behaviour and a supportive learning environment.
* Support the use of technology in the classroom.
* Prepare and maintain learning resources.
* Supervise pupils during school hours and on trips.
* Provide clerical support to teaching staff.
* Attend relevant training and INSET days.
Requirements
Essential Qualifications:
* A-levels or equivalent.
* GCSEs in English, Maths, and Science (Grade C/5 or above).
Experience:
* Previous experience supporting students 1:1 or in small groups.
Skills & Attributes:
* Strong understanding of safeguarding practices.
* Confident with ICT, especially Office 365.
* Ability to build trusting relationships with pupils and staff.
* Resilient, adaptable, and able to prioritise tasks effectively.
* A team player with a sense of humour and a passion for education.
