Job summary
An opportunity has arisen for a motivated individual to join our busy team within Day Surgery as part of Theatre Services for 23 hours per week. This Vacancy is available for both novice and experienced Support Workers as specific in house training will be provided.
This post will involve assist the registered practitioner in looking after adult and paediatric patients before, during and after their operation. The post will involve setting up and moving lots of different types of equipment including heavy theatre trays and patients on trolleys to ensure an effective and efficient service for patients.
Main duties of the job
The Vacancy is based in The Princess of Wales Hospital Day Surgery Unit and the successful candidate will be required to rotate to Main Theatre and Ophthalmology Day Surgery Unit as well as work across other hospitals within the Health Board when service demands require.
The successful candidate will be expected to undertake training programmes in conjunction with the CTMUHB and Health Care Support Workers Framework. This post will involve Circulating duties as well as setting up Theatres for both Elective & some emergency procedures including but not limited to moving different types of equipment, instrument trays and patients on wheelchairs and trolleys. This is a physically and mentally demanding job and the successful candidate will have to prove they can be adaptable to keep up with this ever changing environment.
The ability to speak Welsh is desirable for this post; English and/or Welsh speakers are equally welcome to apply.
