Role
The Centre for Health Economics (CHE) at the University of York is seeking to appoint a Senior Research Fellow/Reader in health economics on a full-time open contract (part-time applications will also be considered with a minimum of 0.8 FTE).
The successful candidate will have a research profile focused on economics applied to health, a strong quantitative background and extensive experience in methods research. The post would be to work across CHE’s research themes, including research in low and middle-income settings.
CHE is one of the world’s most prominent academic health economics research centres. For over forty years it has been committed to the development and application of economics to promote health and wellbeing through the effective, efficient, and equitable use of scarce resources. Skills, Experience & Qualification needed
1. PhD or equivalent research experience in economics applied to health
2. Experience of delivering sustained research output of high quality with evidence of impact and esteem
3. Proven experience of attracting and obtaining significant external research funding
4. Knowledge at an advanced level of research techniques and methods applied in health economics
5. Ability to provide academic leadership in research area and to lead research projects and teams where appropriate
