Job Title: Furniture Project Manager (Junior to Experienced)

Sector: Workplace Design & Build

Location: London

Salary: £42,000 - £65,000 p.a. (Dependent on experience level)

Are you an experienced Furniture Project Manager looking for a new challenge, or a high-potential Junior PM ready to take the next step?

We are seeking a dynamic and commercially astute individual to join our team, responsible for the end-to-end delivery of all furniture packages within our commercial workplace design & build projects. This role is open to candidates with significant experience, as well as outstanding junior candidates with relevant foundational knowledge.

Key Responsibilities:

The successful candidate will own the furniture project lifecycle from specification to final handover, bridging design, procurement, and site delivery.

* Project Ownership & Commercial Management: Take full commercial and delivery responsibility for furniture packages across multiple simultaneous D&B projects. Manage the project budget, including cost control, processing variations, and authorising supplier stage payments.
* Logistics & Site Liaison: Act as the primary point of contact for the main contractor/site team regarding all furniture logistics and installation programming. Provide regular project review and reporting.
* Procurement & Specification: Collaborate with sales and design teams to finalise specifications, ensuring adherence to client requirements and budget. Develop and compile detailed quotation and procurement documents.
* Supply Chain Management: Manage the full procurement process: creating Purchase Orders (POs), negotiating terms, and actively liaising with the supply chain to resolve technical or logistical queries. Ensure 100% accuracy of orders.
* Installation Management: Develop detailed delivery and installation programmes (logistics schedules) that integrate smoothly with the main construction timeline. Oversee on-site delivery and installation to ensure quality and compliance with health and safety standards.
* Quality & Handover: Manage project completion, including formal snagging, defect reporting, and ensuring timely rectification. Collate comprehensive Operation & Maintenance (O&M) manuals for the final handover.

Essential Skills & Experience:

We are hiring at multiple levels; salary and seniority will be commensurate with experience.

* Relevant Sector Experience:
* Experienced Candidates (Target Salary: £55k - £65k): 3+ years of proven experience managing furniture projects within the commercial interior design, fit-out, or design & build sectors is essential.
* Junior Candidates (Target Salary: £42k - £55k): Foundational experience (1+ years) or a strong academic background with demonstrably relevant experience in project coordination, procurement, or interior design/fit-out, specifically relating to furniture.
* Commercial Acumen & Budget Management:
* Experienced Candidates: Strong commercial acumen and demonstrable experience managing large project budgets and negotiating with a diverse supply chain.
* Junior Candidates: Good commercial awareness and a keen willingness to learn budget management and supplier negotiation.
* Technical Knowledge:
* Experienced Candidates: Excellent technical understanding of contract furniture, materials, and specification processes.
* Junior Candidates: A strong interest in and basic knowledge of furniture specification and materials.
* Organisational Skills: Highly methodical, organised, and detail-oriented approach to process and compliance.
* Stakeholder Management: Exceptional communication skills, capable of liaising effectively with clients, designers, suppliers, and site teams.
* Process Proficiency: Proficiency in creating and managing commercial documents (quotes, POs, invoices, installation schedules).
* Attitude: Energy, drive, and a proactive 'can do' attitude, with the ability to thrive in a fast-paced, demanding project environment.

Desired Qualifications & Attributes:

* Project Management Certification (e.g., PRINCE2, APM) or equivalent professional qualification.
* Health & Safety Certification/Awareness (e.g., CSCS card, SMSTS/SSSTS awareness).
* Experience using industry-relevant software for quoting, procurement, or specification.
* A relevant degree or professional qualification in a related field (e.g., Interior Design, Construction Management).
* Fluency in technical drawing comprehension (e.g., CAD/Revit).
