Job Summary
Trust Doctor (equivalent to ST1/2 level) in General Medicine at Whipps Cross University Hospital. This 12‑month fixed term post offers an excellent learning environment with consultant supervision and academic development opportunities.
Responsibilities
* Provide bedside and inpatient care across two general medicine wards (Birch & Blackthorn) in line with RCP Safe Medical Staffing Guidelines.
* Deliver comprehensive clinical services to patients from Waltham Forest, Western Redbridge, and South West Essex, including older patients with frailty, dementia, and delirium.
* Develop and maintain individualized education plans and pursue audit, research, or teaching projects.
* Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team, contribute to clinical audit, and commit to quality improvement.
Person Specification
* Qualifications
o Full GMC registration with licence to practice.
o MRCP part 1 and part 2 written exams.
* Experience / Knowledge
o Broad experience in General Internal Medicine (G(IM)).
o Current ALS (Advanced Life Support) certificate.
o Knowledge of specialist skills, audit, and lifelong learning.
* Skills & Personal Qualities
o Teamwork within a multidisciplinary setting.
o Teaching of medical students, junior doctors, and nursing staff.
o Effective communication with colleagues, patients, families, GPs, nurses.
o Flexible, cooperative attitude; leadership; self‑motivation; ability to handle pressure.
Contract and Compensation
Full‑time, Fixed Term – 12 months. Salary: £44,170 to £46,675 per annum. Pay scheme: Hospital medical and dental staff.
