What's involved with this role: JOB TITLE: Senior Housing Manager - Temporary Accommodation Reduction REF: Bournemouth 5281173 Pay rate: Approx. £27.44 per hour PAYE Contract Type: Temporary, Anticipated 2 to 3 months Working Arrangement: Hybrid with at least two days a week in the office essential for face to face meetings and supporting team. Enhanced DBS essential for this role The role: On behalf of a local council, we are seeking a Senior Housing Officer to work in the Housing Relief Team, with a focus on temporary accommodation reduction. It is essential that you have strong Part 7 Housing Law knowledge along with previous line management experience as you will be managing Housing Options Officers. You will have significant experience in housing services including experience of giving advice to the public on complex and contentious housing matters. Key Responsibilities: Line manage, support, and develop Housing Options Officers to achieve service targets. Provide expert advice on homelessness legislation, case law, and housing policy. Oversee complex and contentious housing cases, ensuring compliance with statutory requirements. Contribute to the council’s strategy to reduce temporary accommodation placements. Work collaboratively with internal teams, landlords, and external agencies to secure sustainable housing solutions. Monitor performance, identify service improvements, and ensure high standards of customer service What the client is looking for: Significant experience in housing services including experience of giving advice to the public on complex and contentious housing matters Proven line management experience within a housing or homelessness service Strong working knowledge of Part 7 Housing Law and associated legislation Significant experience providing housing advice on complex and sensitive cases Excellent communication, problem-solving, and negotiation skills Ability to lead by example, inspire your team, and deliver results under pressure How to Apply Quote the Job Title and Reference Number in your application.
