Leisure supervisors work in the sports complex at Balfron High School where they coordinate the day to day operation of the leisure centre, including the supervision of the swimming pool, ensuring that customers enjoy a safe and pleasant environment. Whilst on shift the supervisor is responsible for a team of leisure attendants and sports coaches and reports to the Leisure Manager.

And as a Leisure Supervisor with Bellrock, you’ll do it by
Main responsibilities:
* To coordinate the activities and staff in the centre above all else, ensuring that the centre operates in a safe and effective manner. The potential dangers associated with a swimming pool require the Supervisor be aware of risks and avoid life threatening situations developing. The post holder will identify hazards and take appropriate action in line with the centres Normal Operation Procedures and Emergency Action Plan.
* To provide excellent customer service at all times by providing a helpful and pleasant service; to address queries and handle complaints from customers, contractors and other Bellrock employees.
* To ensure that the centre is cleaned and maintained to a high standard following health and safety procedures at all times.
* To be responsible while on shift for the security of the school and be a key holder.
* To undertake a range of administration duties including implementing the centres booking procedures, receive payments, prepare takings for banking, create orders when required and assist in organising holiday programmes and other community events.
* To coordinate staff rotas in order to ensure that there is appropriate staff on duty at all times and in line with the centres Normal Operating Procedure.
* To work in line with the Leisure Manager to identify new initiatives to generate additional income for the centre and develop the service.
* To carry out on the job training for new and existing staff and to liaise with the schools and colleges to coordinate work experience placements when required.
Additional information:
The post holder assumes ultimate responsibility for the centre in the absence of their Line managers.
The post holder will be available to work unsocial hours within a rota system including weekends, evenings and bank holidays.
What does it take?

* Experience in a supervisory role (Essential).
* Pool lifeguard certificate.
* First Aid Certificate.
* Maintenance experience.
* Able to communicate well verbally.
* Understanding of customer care.
* Able to work on own initiative.
* Must have a good knowledge of working with teams.
* Must be able to give instruction positively and effectively in order to motivate the team or an individual.
* Ability to apply Health and Safety legislation and council policies and procedures to daily operations of the leisure centre.
* Able to write clearly.
* Maths/English national 4 or equivalent.
* Able to resolve problems quickly.
* Able to articulate ideas, thoughts and actions to team members.
* Calm, even under pressure.
* A friendly open personality.
* Outgoing nature.
* Well presented.
