About the Role:
We are seeking an experienced, motivated and dedicated Children’s Registered Manager to lead the registration, development, and day-to-day operation of a new children’s home situated in the rural Accrington area. This is an exciting opportunity to help shape a high-quality residential service from the ground up, with a strong focus on delivering exceptional care, safeguarding and support to young people.
Key Responsibilities:
Lead on the registration process with Ofsted and ensure compliance with all regulatory and legislative requirements.
Provide effective leadership to the care team, promoting a culture of high standards, professionalism, and continuous improvement.
Ensure the home provides a safe, nurturing and structured environment that meets the emotional, physical, and developmental needs of each child.
Develop and implement individualised care plans in partnership with local authorities, families and other professionals.
Maintain strong and positive relationships with external stakeholders, including social workers, inspectors, and local services.
Oversee staff recruitment, training, development, and performance management.
Take responsibility for the home's budget, administration, and day-to-day operations.
Ensure the home is always operating in line with Ofsted regulations and is inspection-ready.
Actively promote the wellbeing, rights, and aspirations of each young person in the home.
About You:
Must hold a Level 5 Diploma in Leadership and Management for Residential Childcare (or equivalent).
Previous experience as a Registered Manager or Deputy Manager within a children’s residential setting.
Strong working knowledge of relevant childcare legislation, including The Children’s Homes Regulations 2015 and the Quality Standards.
Proven track record in delivering high-quality care and achieving positive outcomes for children and young people.
Strong leadership, organisational, and communication skills.
Resilient, compassionate and committed to child-centred practice.
Full UK driving licence is preferred due to the rural location.
