Overview
Doncaster and Bassetlaw Teaching Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust invites applications for a part-time Band 5/6 Dietitian in the Renal Dietetic team. The post offers an opportunity to specialise in an interesting area of dietetics or to develop further as a Band 6 with support from a MDT that values dietetics. The post holder will provide a high quality, evidence-based dietetic service as part of a specialist multidisciplinary renal team and be a specialist clinician within dietetics. They will manage their own caseload and work collaboratively with colleagues to meet patient needs across Doncaster and Bassetlaw.
Main duties of the job
* Provide a Dietetic Service to a caseload of patients requiring nutritional and dietetic support, using evidence-based, patient-centred principles to assess, plan, implement and evaluate interventions.
* Provide advice and ongoing support to patients with clinical, emotional, psychological and social problems, with support from other team members and direct clinical supervision.
* Overcome barriers to communication and contribute to developing educational resources for patient use.
* Develop and deliver training packages to staff, other health professionals, and group education for patients with renal disease.
* Take responsibility for continuing professional development and actively participate in the Trust’s clinical governance programme through audit and research activities.
