About The Role
We are seeking a motivated individual to join our finance team on a 12-month fixed-term contract. In this role, you will support the Finance Manager in producing monthly management accounts, preparing balance sheet reconciliations, and assisting with ad-hoc finance projects across the Carnell Group.
What You’ll Do
* Prepare accurate monthly balance sheet reconciliations, accruals, and prepayments.
* Post month-end journals and invoices for Carnell Support Services
* Maintain fixed asset and stock registers, ensuring accuracy and compliance.
* Produce month-end spend reports and analyse overhead variances.
* Support weekly payment runs and cover invoice processing when needed.
* Submit cashflow reports, assist with budgets, audits, and statutory accounts.
* Document finance processes and suggest improvements to systems and controls.
* Assist with finance system updates and ad-hoc projects across the Carnell Group.
What We Are Looking For
* Highly organised with strong attention to detail.
* Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
* Confident and proactive approach to work.
* Reliable and able to meet deadlines consistently.
* Proficient in Microsoft Office packages and comfortable with general IT systems.
* Previous purchase ledger experience required.
* CIS/DRC knowledge desirable.
* AAT Level 3 qualified, with the ambition to progress to AAT Level 4, CIMA, or ACCA.
